    Endeavour’s Music Program

Endeavour’s Music program provides a multi-modal approach where music is used as a tool to involve the child at many levels. This not only helps develop your child musically, but aims to develop their social, cognitive and physical skills. Because music is engaging, motivating, fun and playful, it is the ideal method to develop your child’s learning. Music is success-oriented and all inclusive, allowing children to participate at their own level and pace. Music is also a universal language that crosses all cultural lines bringing children together.

Our facilitator, Louise Terry-Clark, is a trained musician, professional singer, Registered Music Therapist (RMT) and Registered Guided Imagery and Music Therapist /Music Psychotherapist (RGIMT). She also holds the position of Vice Chair for the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA NSW). Louise has run music classes in pre-schools, day care centers, playgroups and special education schools. Using evidence based research, Louise has created a music program that will not only fully engage your child but will help develop the whole child.

    Endeavour Languages Curriculum

We know learning a second language not only improves upon ones language acquisition skills, it also enriches that part of the brain that aids in learning music, musical theory, problem-solving and mathematics. At Endeavour we also value the diverse world in which we live. As such, we invest time and effort in the learning of a second or even third language.

Teaching young children a second language is good for their minds. According to studies at the Cornell Language Acquisition Lab (CLAL), children who learn a second language can maintain attention despite outside stimuli better than children who know only one language.

In other words, there are cognitive advantages that follow from learning a second language and these cognitive advantages can contribute to a child’s future academic success.

    Tiny Dancers™

Led by our qualified and experienced dance instructor, our Tiny Dancers™ program encourages children to have fun through interpreting music whilst enabling many of the developmental attributes of growing children. Dance helps children to develop physically as it involves a greater range of movement, coordination, strength and endurance than most other physical activities. It uses the whole body and is an excellent form of exercise for total fitness.

Dance helps children mature emotionally. It allows children the opportunity to express their emotions and raises self-awareness as well as awareness of others through creative movement.

Dance is a powerful ally for developing many of the attributes of a growing child. Dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. The physical benefits of dance are widely accepted, but the emotional, social and cognitive attributes have only recently begun to be appreciated.

Children also develop social awareness through dance as it fosters social interaction and cooperation allowing them to understand themselves in relation to others.

Dance provides young children multiple perspectives. It is “a foundation of experience necessary for the future development of more advanced skills and a way to affirm an inner life and alternate realities” (Stinson, 1990). Through dance, children develop enhanced sensory awareness, cognition, and consciousness. It is this heightened state that creates the magic of movement that is dance.

    School Readiness Program

School Readiness Program gives our children a head start on their peers when they reach school. Our lessons are delivered in a fun and engaging environment which helps our children build confidence and creates a solid foundation to learning in the areas of maths and literacy.

Through Endeavour’s School readiness program, we ensure that our children learn letter sounds and numbers to build a good foundation to learning before our children start school.

Our school readiness program will provide the confidence children need to see them right through their school years.

    Arts and Hearts™

Art is a lot of fun, but there is so much more to art. Children learn through exploring art and creating artworks. Children develop useful life skills through art.

Our Arts and Hearts™ program involves children in making their own art and enjoying the art of others. Our art program encourages children’s complete development. Our curriculum includes activities that will help children develop their communication, problem-solving, social, fine motor and self-expression abilities.

Creating art allows children to work through feelings and emotions, and referring to a finished piece of artwork helps a child talk about feelings in a new and meaningful way. Art also develops a child’s creativity. Rather than being told what to do, answers and directions come from the child. Art is an experience that requires freethinking, experimentation, and analysis all part of creativity.
