School Readiness Program

Your child’s transition to school will be easier having had access to our high-quality school readiness program. Our school readiness for preschoolers program incorporates not only literacy and mathematical learning but also physical and creative education. Your child will develop their social and emotional skills as well as build their confidence and self-help skills. In addition, our children are also provided access to our language, sports and music therapy programs.

We combine the Early Years Learning Framework with our extensive understanding of how children develop and learn. We work with families to set goals so that we can deliver the best early childhood development outcomes for their children. Our aim is to ensure that all our children are prepared as they begin their school journey.

Literacy employing the THRASS system

Our school readiness literacy program teaches children to identify and write their own names, recognise the names of their friends, and use language to communicate one on one and with the class during presentations.

Literacy employing the THRASS system used in NSW schools. THRASS (Teaching Handwriting, Reading And Spelling Skills) is a system for teaching learners of any age the building blocks of reading and spelling, namely the 44 phonemes (speech sounds) of spoken English and the graphemes (spelling choices) of written English. The THRASS Specific Pedagogical Practise and accompanying THRASS charts and teaching resources have been highly effective in schools and learning institutions since 1998 and are the most widely used and recognised teacher reference tools for teaching the phonographic and orthography of English.

Computer Gym provides:

  • confidence with computer terminology and operation – vital for schooling
  • experience with coding and a wide variety of software
  • a focus on fun while learning in small, dynamic groups
  • specialized teachers to ensure your child makes the most of their learning opportunities

Cognitive skills

  • Using numbers to represent, count order and compare
  • Compare and identify differences in objects make hypotheses
  • Recall information and use it later. Recognise changes in objects. Sort, order and compare by different characteristics.
  • Identify, remember and recreate shapes, symbols and patterns
  • Discovering cause and effect through science
  • Understanding how numbers, colours and words are used through everyday life experience

Social and emotional skills

  • Developing the ability to share and take turns with others.
